ACCOMODATIONS

How many rooms do you have?

We have 16 double rooms, which includes 4 rooms designed for our handicapped guests.  Guest rooms are exclusively reserved for medical related travellers.

Do you offer connecting rooms?

No, connecting rooms are not available at Fidelis House.

How many people are allowed to stay with me?

A maximum of 3 people are allowed in each room.

Do you have weekly or monthly rates?

No, we currently offer only nightly rates.

Do I need a letter or other form of verification from my doctor?

No. Upon making a reservation you will be asked to provide information verifying your medical related travel; however, we do not require written verification from medical practitioners.

OUR SERVICES & TOWN AMENITIES

What in-house amenities do you provide?

In keeping with our vision to be a low cost facility, we offer clean & basic services. We offer kitchen facilities, cable television in the common room, a telephone, high speed internet, as well as, linen, towel and housekeeping services.

Are medical services provided at Fidelis House?

No, there are no medical services provided at Fidelis House. If you require medical assistance, you must make your own arrangements. In the event of an emergency, you must dial 911 to access emergency medical services.

Can you recommend restaurants, activities or local entertainment?

Yes, our volunteers will be pleased to offer suggestions on all local points of interest.

DINING

Do you provide meals?

No, although we do have a kitchen. It has a fridge, microwave and stove for your convenience. Guests are welcome to make their own meals during their stay. Coffee, tea, breakfast foods, light lunch items are available at all times in the guest kitchen. Relatives visiting patients at the hospital are welcome to come and have a cup of tea during rest periods. This service is complimentary.

Can we order in?

Yes, but couriers do not have access to the building and must be met at the main entrance.

Can I eat my meals in my room?

No. Eating your meals is not permitted in the rooms; please use our kitchen.

Am I allowed to have a glass of wine with my meal or any other alcoholic beverage in my room?

No. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises.

DIRECTIONS, TRANSPORTATION, & PARKING

Can you provide driving directions from all major routes?

Yes, our volunteers will be pleased to provide you with driving directions to Fidelis House.

Where are you located?

On the hospital property, we share the hospital’s parking lot- the civic address is 150 Exhibition Street, Kentville, Nova Scotia.

What are your nearest cross streets?

We have three major streets which intersect each other, they are Bridge Street, Brooklyn Street and Belcher Street.

Where is the closest Kings Transit Bus stop?

The Kings Transit Bus stops on hospital grounds by the main entrance.

Do you offer parking? Cost?

Yes, there is plenty of parking on hospital grounds, just steps away from Fidelis House.

Where can I park if your lot is full?

There are plenty of parking spaces, all within steps of Fidelis House and the hospital. You will never have to worry about parking.

Do you offer transportation to the hospital?

No. If you are unable to walk to the hospital, we can call a taxi for you, or provide you with a wheelchair or walker. Please ask one of our volunteers for assistance, they will be glad to help you out.

TECHNOLOGY

Do you have high speed internet access?

High speed internet is available throughout the building.

Do you have cable TV?

We do offer cable TV in the common area.
